CM Dhami Reviews Progress of Key Development Projects Across Pauri District; Sets Deadlines for Completion

Date:

DEHRADUN — In a major push toward administrative accountability and infrastructure growth, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat on Saturday. The session was dedicated to assessing the progress of developmental announcements specifically made for the Yamkeshwar, Pauri, Srinagar, Chaubattakhal, Lansdowne, and Kotdwar assembly constituencies.

The Chief Minister issued a clear mandate to officials: public welfare projects must transition from planning to reality without bureaucratic delays. To ensure this, he directed the implementation of Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) charts for effective monitoring and time-bound completion of all pending initiatives.

Strategic Infrastructure and Regional Connectivity

The review focused heavily on improving the quality of life in the Pauri Garhwal region. CM Dhami emphasized that road connectivity remains the backbone of the state’s economy and tourism. He instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) and rural engineering services to expedite work on all sanctioned road projects, ensuring that no village in these six constituencies remains disconnected due to technical or administrative hurdles.

“Infrastructure is not just about concrete; it is about providing our citizens in the hills with access to healthcare, education, and markets,” the Chief Minister stated during the meeting. He further directed that all Government Orders (GOs) related to previous announcements be issued by June 15, 2026, to prevent any further lag in implementation.

Focus on Healthcare and Education

Addressing the specific needs of the region, the Chief Minister approved several initiatives aimed at strengthening social infrastructure:

  • Girls’ Hostels: Plans were solidified to establish girls’ hostels in every development block to support female education and provide safe accommodation for students traveling from remote areas.
  • Medical Facilities: CM Dhami directed health officials to ensure that community health centers in Srinagar and Pauri are equipped with modern diagnostic tools and adequate staff to reduce the burden on district hospitals.
  • Drinking Water: The Jal Sansthan was tasked with completing pipeline laying and water distribution schemes, particularly in water-stressed pockets of Yamkeshwar and Kotdwar.

Strengthening Disaster Resilience

Given the geographical challenges of the region, the meeting also touched upon disaster management. Earlier this week, the Chief Minister approved projects worth ₹1,252 crore aimed at strengthening infrastructure and flood protection systems across the state. In this review, he specifically asked officials to identify landslide-prone zones along major routes in the Pauri district and initiate preventive engineering works before the peak monsoon season.

The Chief Minister also noted that with the Char Dham Yatra and the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027 preparations, the pressure on state infrastructure is significant. He urged a coordinated approach between the Forest Department and District Administrations to resolve land-use issues that often stall critical public projects.

A Model for Transparent Governance

The use of PERT charts marks a shift toward a more data-driven governance model in Uttarakhand. By identifying “critical paths” in project timelines, the state government aims to hold specific departments accountable for delays.

“Our government is committed to a transparent and results-oriented administration,” CM Dhami reiterated. He warned that negligence in fulfilling public promises would not be tolerated and encouraged officials to maintain a proactive dialogue with local MLAs to stay updated on grassroots issues.

As Uttarakhand continues its trajectory of sustainable development, this focused review of the Pauri region underscores the administration’s intent to ensure that the benefits of growth reach every corner of the “Devbhoomi,” from the bustling markets of Kotdwar to the remote heights of Yamkeshwar.
