BADRINATH, UTTARAKHAND — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Badrinath to review preparations ahead of the opening of Badrinath Dham, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India.
The temple gates are scheduled to open for devotees on April 23 at 6:15 AM, marking the beginning of a new pilgrimage season. Ahead of this, the Chief Minister held a detailed meeting with district officials to assess the arrangements made for the large number of devotees expected to visit the shrine.
During the meeting, Dhami reviewed key areas such as crowd management, security arrangements, accommodation facilities, medical services, and transportation systems. He directed officials to ensure that all necessary facilities are in place so that pilgrims can have a safe and comfortable experience.
He emphasised that the safety and convenience of devotees should be the top priority, especially considering the challenging terrain and weather conditions in the Himalayan region. He also asked authorities to maintain cleanliness in and around the temple area.
The Chief Minister also arrived at the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Guest House in Badrinath as part of his visit. His presence highlights the importance the state government is placing on ensuring smooth arrangements for the opening ceremony.
Dhami is scheduled to visit the temple and offer prayers during the opening ceremony, which is considered highly auspicious. The opening of Badrinath Dham also marks the full start of the Char Dham Yatra, attracting lakhs of devotees from across the country.
In addition to reviewing arrangements, the Chief Minister conducted an on-site inspection of ongoing development works under the Shri Badrinath Master Plan at Saket Tiraha. This project aims to improve infrastructure, enhance facilities for pilgrims, and modernise the area while preserving its spiritual importance.
He instructed officials to ensure that development work is completed on time and does not disrupt the movement of pilgrims during the yatra season.
Authorities have made extensive preparations, including improving roads, setting up medical camps, strengthening security, and arranging proper accommodation, to handle the expected rush of visitors.
Officials believe that this year will see a large number of pilgrims, making it essential to maintain proper coordination between departments.
The Chief Minister’s visit and review underline the state government’s focus on ensuring a safe, well-organised, and spiritually fulfilling experience for all devotees visiting Badrinath Dham.
