Uttarakhand Minister Ganesh Joshi has expressed strong confidence in the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, stating that this year’s pilgrimage is expected to witness record-breaking participation. His remarks came while addressing the media in Lucknow, where he spoke about the extensive preparations being undertaken to ensure a smooth and safe journey for devotees.
Highlighting the importance of the pilgrimage, Joshi said that all pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand are considered guests, and the government is committed to providing them with the best possible arrangements and hospitality. He emphasized that special attention has been given to ensuring comfort, safety, and convenience for the large number of devotees expected this season.
The minister, who is overseeing Rudraprayag district, shared details of his recent review of arrangements at Kedarnath Temple, one of the most important shrines in the Char Dham circuit. He stated that ground-level inspections have been conducted to assess infrastructure, crowd management systems, and essential facilities for pilgrims.
According to Joshi, the government has made comprehensive preparations, including improvements in roads, accommodation facilities, medical services, and emergency response systems. He noted that lessons from previous years have been carefully considered to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims and avoid any inconvenience.
The Char Dham Yatra, which includes Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, attracts lakhs of devotees every year. Over time, the number of pilgrims has steadily increased, reflecting the growing faith and interest among people from across the country and abroad.
“This time, all records of the pilgrimage are going to be broken,” Joshi said, expressing optimism about the expected turnout. He pointed out that more than 50 lakh devotees visited Uttarakhand during the previous season, and this year, the number is likely to cross 60 lakh, marking a significant rise in participation.
The anticipated surge in pilgrims has prompted authorities to strengthen arrangements further. Special focus has been placed on traffic management, crowd control, and environmental protection to ensure that the pilgrimage remains safe and sustainable. Efforts are also being made to maintain cleanliness and promote eco-friendly practices throughout the yatra route.
Joshi also emphasized the role of coordination between various departments, including administration, police, health services, and disaster management teams. He stated that a well-coordinated approach is essential to handle the large influx of devotees and to respond effectively to any unforeseen situations.
In addition to infrastructure and safety measures, the government is also focusing on improving the overall spiritual experience for pilgrims. Facilities such as better darshan management, information centers, and support services are being enhanced to make the यात्रा more organized and accessible.
The minister’s statement reflects the government’s confidence in its preparations and its commitment to making the Char Dham Yatra a successful and memorable experience for all visitors.
With expectations of record-breaking participation, the upcoming pilgrimage season is set to play a crucial role not only in strengthening spiritual tourism but also in boosting the local economy and livelihoods in the region.
As the yatra approaches, authorities continue to monitor arrangements closely, ensuring that every aspect is in place for the safe and smooth conduct of one of India’s most significant religious journeys.
