Dehradun: Uttarakhand has taken another step toward expanding international employment opportunities for its youth as a delegation from Japan visited Doon University and the Regional Employment Office in Dehradun to strengthen collaboration in skill development, Japanese language education, and overseas recruitment.
The visit aligns with the Uttarakhand Government’s ongoing efforts to prepare young people for global careers through specialized language training, technical skill development, and international employment initiatives.

During their visit, the representatives reviewed the skill development and Japanese language training programmes being conducted under the Chief Minister’s Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme.
They assessed how Uttarakhand is preparing its youth to meet international employment standards and discussed opportunities for skilled candidates to work in Japan.
At the Regional Employment Office in Survey Chowk, Dehradun, the delegation interacted with candidates currently undergoing Japanese language training.
The representatives evaluated participants on:
- Japanese language proficiency
- Technical skills
- Readiness for overseas employment
They also provided practical guidance on:
- Japanese pronunciation
- Workplace communication
- Corporate etiquette
- Professional work culture in Japan
The interactive sessions aimed to help trainees better understand the expectations of Japanese employers before seeking overseas placements.

Director of Employment Narendra Singh Bhandari said the state government is actively working to create overseas employment opportunities for young people under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
He noted that the government’s employment programmes combine:

- Career readiness for overseas employment
According to officials, partnerships with international organizations can help align training programmes with evolving global workforce requirements.
The delegation also visited Doon University, where discussions were held with faculty members from the Department of Japanese Language and placement officials.
